Altered Books - Morning/Afternoon

What are altered books? In the words of artist Carol Owen ‘I'm often asked to describe altered books to people who are unfamiliar with them. I try to explain it this way: I start with an old, unloved book and transform it with paint, photos, and other embellishments.
